Every now and again, a talent appears on one of the reality programs that makes us rethink everything. Our perceptions, judgments, and worldview are all challenged. And this audition for The Voice Portugal is one of them.

Everyone believed it was a female singer. I, too, believed so. The voice made me envision a whole other person. The voice evoked the image of a seductive, assertive diva, occasionally adorned with heavy makeup to accentuate her unique personality. When the judges looked around, they were shocked to find a drape over the performer. They waited attentively till the song finished. And when the curtain lowers, what a surprise.

Bertlio Santos, the singer behind the scenes, auditioned for The Voice Portugal – Fourth Edition. He loved to sing since he was a youngster. He started singing in church when he was quite young and proceeded to grow from there.
